Focus and Scope

The Journal of Advanced Methods in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering (AMCPE) is an open access, internationally peer-reviewed journal that is published bi-monthly in English by Golden Spiral Publishing Incorporation (Alberta, Canada). AMCPE attempts to provide world-class recent advances in applied knowledge and practices of chemical and petroleum engineering aspects. Maintaining the close linkage between applied chemistry/biotechnology and chemical/biotechnical engineering, AMCPE further attempts to bridge the gap between the petroleum geoscience and petroleum engineering - Similar to applied chemistry/biotechnology and chemical/biotechnical engineering, the linkage between petroleum geoscience and petroleum engineering disciplines are often necessary and inevitable.

The AMCPE is composed of a team of dedicated skilled individuals. The editorial board of AMCPE is composed of academics and professionals from leading research institutes and industrial companies. The office of AMCPE is currently located in Calgary, Alberta (Canada).

Our objectives:

  • To transform the AMCPE into a self-sustaining, world-class peer-reviewed journal for different engineering domains, publishing high-quality research works in English from all around the world.
  • To transform the AMCPE into a high impact factor journal with indexed content and readily searchable/available in the World Wide Web.
  • To establish AMCPE’s online presence with a powerful and dynamic website accessible not only to all engineers but also to anyone who wish to know more about research in engineering.

The general subject areas covered by AMCPE are:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Biotechnical Engineering
  • Applied Chemistry
  • Applied Biotechnology
  • Petroleum Engineering
  • Petroleum Geoscience
  • Environmental Engineering (related to chemical and petroleum processes)
  • Mechanical Engineering (related to fluid thermodynamics/mechanics in porous media)

Special Issues:

Special Issues deal with focused topics that are within the scope of the journal with high international interest. Special Issue proposals are welcome at any time during the year. For most of the engineering conferences, it is possible to submit papers presented at the conference for subsequent publication in a special issues of AMCPE after modification.

Section Policies

Research Papers

The abstract should contain no more than 300 words (including characters) with a structured format comprising of the objective(s), methodology, results/discussion and conclusion(s).

Research articles should not exceed 30 typewritten pages (including tables, figures, illustrations and references) or 6000 words.

Checked Open Submissions Checked Indexed Checked Peer Reviewed

Review Papers

Review papers provide information on the “state-of-the-art” computational and experimental research in engineering. IJCEME encourages those review papers that not only summarize current understanding of a particular topic but also describe significant gaps in the research, and current debates.

Review articles should not exceed 40 typewritten pages (including tables, figures, illustrations and references) or 8000 words.

Checked Open Submissions Checked Indexed Checked Peer Reviewed

Technical Reports

Technical reports should not exceed 15 typewritten pages (including tables, figures, illustrations and references) or 3000 words.

Peer Review Process

Once submission requirements are satisfactorily met, each manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editor(s) to evaluate on the overall quality of the manuscript. Thereafter, peer reviewers are assigned by the Editor-in-Chief and/or Vice Editor-in-Chief. The AMCPE implements a strict peer review policy using standard criteria. Reviewers are chosen among the international experts in the fields. A final review is done on each article by the assigned editor(s) before acceptance/rejection.

Open Access Policy

AMCPE provides immediate open access to the content of articles upon publication. AMCPE supports the principle that making research freely available to the public provides an easier and more efficient global exchange of knowledge.

Publication Frequency

The Journal of Advanced Methods in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering (AMCPE) is published as a bi-monthly (6 issues) journal throughout the year.

Publication Ethics

Author(s) is/are responsible for the originality of the manuscript submitted to AMCPE. Author(s) is/are further responsible for the content of the manuscript including claims, conclusions, appropriate citation, conflict of interest, acknowledgments, and authors’s contributions. Under certain conditions, the raw/original data based on which the manuscript has been provided might be requested by Editor-in-Chief for verification purposes only.

Authors of AMCPE must consider:

  • submitted manuscript must be the original work of the author(s)
  • only unpublished manuscript should be submitted (or justification must be provided to the Editor-in-Chief)
  • any conflict of interest must be clearly stated
  • acknowledge the sources of data used in the development of the manuscript
  • all errors discovered in the manuscript after submission must be clearly and promptly communicated to the Editor-in-Chief.
